Today, the family was getting ready to go on a walk together when Michael says,
"Mom, you are white, Aliyah is brown, I am brown and Dada is brown."
I said, "Oh, who told you that?"
Michael says, "My master."
I say, "Who's your master?"
He just says, "My master."

Spoon Giver or Attention Getter
Aliyah likes to come up and type on my lap top's keypad because it makes noise and to get my attention. She has been told no, cried to get her way and been told no again. So, she doesn't try to type on the keyboard anymore, instead she will put an object, today a spoon, on the keyboard to get my attention.
Reading Aliyah's Favorite Book
Five Little Ladybugs is Aliyah's favorite story.
Whenever I don't hear the clanking of objects its usually because she is sitting looking at books, 9 out of 10 times it's this book.

Aliyah's Unfortunate New Word
We were out running errands Friday night when I heard her say it in the car. I couldn't believe what I heard and asked Michael what she said. He replied, "butt" with a chuckle. She said it again and we both laughed. Then she laughed. When Morris came back to the car, I told him what she had been saying. As we pulled out of the parking lot, she said it again. We all laughed. She laughed and kept repeating it. She has been saying it ever since.

My Funny Girl
I had an errand to run tonight and with a little chill in the air I put the seat cover over her. She made it to the car with it still in place but by the time I got to where I needed to be this is what she dis. She will go a whole car ride like this just so she can see everything in her surroundings. If I have the shade rolled out to protect her from the sun, it is pushed back behind her head as far as she can get it.

Alphabet Go Fish
Aliyah goes down for bed around 7 pm, so I try to play a game with Michael before we do his nightly routine. Tonight we played Alphabet Go Fish and he beat me of course. I am so proud of him, there were only 2 letters he did not recognize on the first try. He will be going to kindergarten next year, so this has been a fun way to review his letters:)

Aliyah's Hunger Call
As Aliyah approaches her first birthday, I think upon things that I may miss and want to remember. This is one of those things. Ever since she was born, she made this sound when she was hungry. Sometimes, she would also make this sound up against her arm, wrist or back of the hand to put herself to sleep.

Crawling Her Pants Off!
Aliyah's belly has slimmed down this last month or so and as she got faster with the army crawl her pants would gradually come off. If they did not come all the way off she would lay on her side and kick her legs until they would come off (I have yet to get a video of this, but I hope I do because it is hilarious).

Aliyah Being Aliyah
And yes, she has finally been creeping (up on her hands and knees) but only if she is not in a rush to get somewhere, otherwise, she does the army crawl:)

Back of the Hand/Wrist Sucker
I sucked my thumb, Michael had the pacy, and this little girl sucks on her wrist or the back of her hand.
Yup, and she has even given her self a hickey or two.
