Just a Note from Michael's Teacher

There was a little envelope addressed to Mr. and Mrs. Donald in Michael's locker on Wednesday.
Too curious to wait, I opened it as soon as we got settled into the car.
It read,

"Thank you for the gift of your child.
The sunshine of his smile, the warmth of his hug, and the sweet words of his wisdom.
The compassion he shares with me is a comfort and a joy."

She may never know how much her note meant to us as parents.
I will cherish this card forever.
As we raise him, we hope this won't be the last teacher to feel
this way about the blessing we have in Michael.

Car Ride Conversation

On our way to school this morning...
Michael said, "Mom, I love you."
I said, "I love you too, punkin."
Michael: "I love you more."
Mom: (Looking at the full moon) "I love you to the moon and back."
Michael: "I love you to the sun and back."
He had me beat there.
Mom: "It makes me happy that you love me so much."
Michael: "Yeah... me too."

"You're So Beautiful"

Michael's Nana asks Michael, "How did you get so beautiful?"
She reminds him that he is suppose to reply, "My God made me that way."
Well, today Michael was facing me while sitting on my lap and we were just talking when he puts both hands on my face and says, "Mom, you are so beautiful." I nearly melted.
I said, "Thank you. You are so beautiful too."
He replies, "God made us both beautiful."

Our Weekend with Family

My nephew, Andrew Bean, was born very early Monday Morning.
I waited all week to get the chance to go visit him.
Michael and I left Saturday morning.
We stopped and visited my grandparents and dad for a few hours
then got back in the car and and finished our trip to Muskegon.

Michael could not wait to see Addy and I could not wait to hold Andrew.

We stayed at Nana & Papa's house on Saturday night.
On Sunday we also visited Uncle John John and Candy.
Although it was only a two day trip we had a wonderful time.
